The only negative is they have closed off the last section of the south rim trail about 1/4 mile from the bridge. Through the 1940's and 50's there were just a few homesteaders and trappers here. A short traverse along a forested hill delivers you to the sapphire blue lake in Lemei Rock's old crater. At the trailhead, there is a vault toilet.
